Once we have had the first snowfall, it seems quite natural to begin to at least toy with the thought that the Holiday season is not too far off. At Prost Brewing, this is a time of anticipation for the upcoming release of this year’s seasonal beer made especially for the Holidays.
Right now, Bill, the brewmaster, is patiently caring for a Doppelbock that will take the spotlight right after Thanksgiving. This beer, first brewed in Munich by Paulaner monks, was once served as a “liquid bread” in times of fasting when solid food was not permitted.
One taste of the heavy, slightly chewy, malty, velvety-smooth Doppelbock, and you will come to terms with the pleasures of liquid bread. It is one of Germany’s biggest beers that will surely warm your heart this upcoming holiday season. So as the covering of fall leaves transitions to a white blanket of snow, the time for dreaming is upon us.
